BACKGROUND

Swift Energy Sdn. Bhd. started in Malaysia at the turn of the new millennium, specialising in intelligent engineering solutions for the oil and gas, manufacturing and process controls industries.

Swift Energy is registered with the Ministry of Finance and Petronas Berhad to qualify the company as an approved vendor to participate in the upstream and downstream of Oil & Gas and Petrochemical projects in Malaysia. Swift Energy also receives good support from MIDA for its export manufacturing activity.

The main market segment of Swift Energy is the Oil and Gas and Edible Oils Industries, particularly offshore platform fabricator and onshore contractor in general.

To date, over 50% of Swift’s home grown engineered solutions are exported and installed to over 40 countries worldwide. Armed with its acquired Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status by the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDEC) in October 2006. The MSC has achieved a great deal in providing opportunities for technology companies and the company particularly pleased that the MDEC has recognized their commitment to contribute towards the technological advancement of the country.

The Swift Group has now begun its outward push to become a dominant player in the Asia Pacific. With Malaysia as its hub of operations, the Group is building its overseas network. In early 2007, it established its first overseas office in Singapore. This marks the beginning of the Swift Group’s regional footprint. In 2009 it established its operations in Chongqing and 2011 in Guangzhou, China. In 2011, it established its Bangkok office in Thailand.

Swift Group is poised to tap into other strategic locations in South East Asia and beyond. Indeed, we believe that the most exciting period of growth is yet to come.

Swift Energy Technology was incorporated as a private limited company in Malaysia on 12 September 2022 and became a public limited company under the name of Swift Energy Technology Bhd on 19 April 2024.

2000

Swift Energy (SESB) was incorporated in 2000

2001

Swift Energy (SESB) commenced operations as a trading company that specialized in electrical and electronic equipment, including navigational aids systems, public address systems, and transformers.

Swift Solutions (SSSB) was incorporated in 2001 and began its operations.

2002

Swift Solutions (SSSB) achieved our first export sales, comprising a process control system for a manufacturer of edible oils in Hebei, China.

2006

Swift PMAS was incorporated and commenced operations to offer assembly, wiring, and testing services for process control and power distribution systems.

Swift PMAS received pioneer status from MIDA for a duration of five years, spanning from 2006 to 2011.

Swift Solutions MSC was incorporated and commenced operations under the former name of Swift MSC Sdn Bhd and was awarded the MSC status (now referred to as Malaysia Digital status).

2007

We expanded our business into Singapore through the incorporation of SE Singapore (previously known as Optimum Energy Pte Ltd) and an office. The primary focus of the company is to handle sales and marketing for our Group and to pursue opportunities within the Singaporean market.

Swift Energy (SESB) obtained authorization as a licensee and manufacturer for General Electric's SEN Plus system, which encompasses LV switchboard and MCC.

Swift Energy (SESB) secured our first maintenance project for an Ex Solar PV system, engaging in the provision of maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting services for ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. for five years

2008

Swift Energy (SESB) supplied its first Ex Solar PV system to Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited in Malaysia

Swift Solutions MSC (SSMSC) exported its first process control system to Germany for an edible oil refining plant

Swift Group head office was relocated to DANA 1 Commercial Square in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, and established a branch office in Johor, Malaysia.

2009

Swift Automation (SASB) was incorporated and commenced operations to carry out the distribution of industrial electrical products.

Swift Chongqing China (SCQ) started its operations and performed in-house process control panel assembly and wiring works in the same year of its incorporation

Swift Energy (SESB) obtained its first Ex certification, namely an ATEX certification, for an Ex PLC panel fabricated by Swift Group.

 

Swift Energy (SESB) obtained a Petronas license for 3 SWEC codes relating to the supply of LV switchboards/distribution boards, instrument control panels, and SCADA systems.

2010

Swift Energy (SESB) secured its first project for the provision of Ex power distribution system which involves the design, assembly, testing, and commissioning works of Ex AC and DC LV switch rack, and Ex battery charger for a wellhead platform in Sarawak

2011

In line with our Group’s emphasis on quality management systems, Swift Energy (SESB) and Swift Solutions MSC (SSMSC) obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification.

 

Swift Energy (SESB) acquired a factory in Section 34, Shah Alam, Selangor, relocating our head office and fabrication facility there. Subsequently, we expanded the factory, and as of the Last Point of Data (LPD), the built-up area totals 69,950 sq ft.

Swift Energy (SESB) invested in CNC machines for several purposes, including cutting, punching, milling, and bending to begin producing enclosure panels in-house, which are used for process control and power distribution systems.

The incorporation of Swift Energy Thailand (SECL) signifies the expansion of Swift Group operations into Thailand. An office was established in Bangkok to focus on sales and marketing efforts, addressing opportunities in the Thai market.

Swift Energy became a SIVACON S8 Technology Partner for the fabrication of Siemens’ SIVACON S8 LV switchboard range of products for Siemens AG (“Siemens”).

Swift Energy (SESB) obtained its first IECEx certification for solar PV module with a 85W power rating to be used in a potentially explosive environment.

 

2012

Swift Group secured a project for the design, fabricate, and supply of Ex solar PV system for the Balai Oil Field in Sarawak, Malaysia using our certified Ex solar PV module.

2013

Swift Automation (SASB) was appointed as an Authorised Distributor for IDEC Izumi Asia Pte Ltd to distribute their automation and control products in Malaysia.

Swift Solutions (SSSB) became inactive.

2015

Swift Chongqing China (SCQ) has transitioned its operations, now specializing in in-house services such as the design, supply, and maintenance of process control systems while outsourcing assembly and wiring tasks to third-party service providers.

2017

Swift Group secured a project for the design, assembly, and supply of Ex solar PV system to an EPCC company for an onshore oil metering station in Indonesia.

Swift Solutions (SSSB) underwent a name change to become Swift Digital Solutions Sdn Bhd.

2019

Swift Energy (SESB) obtained its IECEx certifications for solar PV module power ratings including 125W, 190W, 250W, 320W and 380W to be used in a potentially explosive environment.

Swift Group secured a project from an EPCC company in Türkiye for the design, fabricate, and supply of Ex solar PV system for an offshore O&G platform in Turkmenistan.

Swift Digital Solutions (formerly known as Swift Solutions) underwent a name change and became Swift Energy Oil & Gas (SEOG).

2020

Swift Energy (SESB) commenced the development of an Ex battery box for batteries to store energy generated from the Ex solar PV system.

2021

Through Swift Energy Thailand (SECL), Swift Group secured a 5-year contract from Customer A to supply Ex solar PV system, Ex distribution board, and Ex navigational aids system for 38 wellhead platforms for Thailand’s national O&G company.

Swift Energy Oil & Gas (SEOG) obtained a Petronas license and commenced operations as a provider of process control and power distribution systems for the O&G industry in Malaysia. As at the LPD, SEOG is the sole Petronas license holder for our Group

Through Swift Energy Singapore (SEPL), Swift Group secured purchase orders from an EPCC company and an equipment supplier in Singapore in 2021 and 2022 respectively for the design, fabrication, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of power distribution systems including LV switchboards, MCC panels and distribution boards for a utility project in Hong Kong.

2022

Swift Energy (SESB) acquired ALR, a company involved in the distribution of industrial electrical products. As at the LPD, ALR is an Authorised Distributor of Emerson Automation Solutions Intelligence Platforms Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (“Emerson”) for machine automation solutions products in Malaysia.

2023

Swift Group secured several purchase orders from OceanMight Sdn Bhd for the design, fabrication, supply, installation supervision, testing, and commissioning of Ex solar PV systems, Ex diesel-powered generator systems, and Ex navigational aids systems for the wellhead platforms for MLNG FaS gas field development offshore Malaysia.

 

Swift Group secured its single largest Ex solar PV systems project, in terms of size, from Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd, comprising 240 solar PV modules (91.2 kWp) for the Rosmari-Marjoram gas platform off the coast of Sarawak, Malaysia.

Swift Group secured a project from Siemens Pte Ltd for the design, fabrication, supply, installation supervision, testing and commissioning of power distribution systems for a utility project in Singapore.

Swift Group secured a project from Equator Engineering Sdn Bhd for the design, fabrication, supply, installation supervision, testing and commissioning of eight sets of LV switchboards for a power generation plant in Kulim, Kedah.

2024

Swift Group received 2 ASTA Type Certifications for our 250A LV distribution boards which verifies its compliance to IEC 61439-2:2020 and IEC 61439-3:2012 respectively from Intertek Testing & Certification Ltd, UK.

June 2000

Swift Energy Sdn Bhd begins, as a licensed supplier to Petronas for engineering, design, electrical, and instrumentation services

August 2001

Swift expands into the oils & Grains industry, providing control systems hardware and software integration solutions

January 2002

Exports its first solutions to China; today exports cover 30 countries and counting

September 2002

2002 Sept Begins manufacturing the proprietary Swift control panel for the edible oils market, thereby diversifying into design, fabrication, wiring and testing of its own products

April 2003

Sets up a trading unit to establish itself as a full-fledged integrated engineering solutions provider

September 2004

Successfully commissions first LV switchboard/ MCC integrated with IMCS system for Shell in Sarawak

Swift is awarded MSC status

February 2007

Swift commissions the E11PB and E11KA offshore platforms’ Power Management System—a first for Shell in Malaysia

Swift Transformer Sdn Bhd was formed as manufacturer for transformer products. It is fully equipped with facility to make transformer up to 10 MVA locally in Malaysia.

Swift Energy obtained ATEX & IECEx certification from INERIS France for Zone 1 Ex d IIB T4 Battery Charger with current rating upto 800A@ 24vdc or 48vdc.

March 2016

Swift Energy obtained ATEX & IECEx certification from INERIS France for Zone 1 IP66 Ex e II T4/T5/T6 Busbar Junction box which cover current rating upto 1000A, 100kA rms 1s
